Coming back home from town. After bathing, i sat down lonely facing the computer having my dinner while facebooking... my mum walked into my room and randomly talked to me. She told me that youngsters in Singapore are too dependent to their parents.
Well, i have nothing to say about it... despite knowing and seeing a lot of changes.
In my mind i know, Singapore changed a lot. My mum told me that kids in Singapore are raised up in a wrong way and approach. She always emphasized to me that kids should not be over pampered and she always remind me repeatedly.
Well, she explained to me... with a real scenario of my cousin. Well, my cousin is a nice guy! Yeah! Nothing to backstab or so on. But i believe is the way perhaps he is brought up... that makes him now.
Well, for instances, a lot of parents love to say,"Son, please do well for your exam! If you do well, we go for oversea trip or buy xxxx for you."
Haha, my parents also say the same thing to me throughout my school days :) I remembered that my parents bought me a brandless watch when i scored well for my math. It as a motivation during my primary school days.
As i grew up, i soon realised that studying is for my own sake, why make my mum waste money to motivate me? My parent have already invested money for me to study.
I told my mum that i do not want to be treated this way. Back then it was when i was Sec 1. i have never forget it.
Holding a Hand phone is a luxury similar as driving a car... why youngsters love to spam their hand phone talking unnecessary? Who is going to pay for the bill... their parents again? Damn, i pity their parents. I remembered that my first hand phone, i used my pocket money to buy... and the phone bills, i have to even work and pay for it. I never ask my parents to pay a single cent for the bill that i received. I worked while studying throughout my poly days. Sometimes, it really push me to the limit. I was new to the working environment, got bullied by my seniors, i endured it for the 3 years. Freaking tired, sometimes i threw tamtrum.
Haha, since i posted so much...i just continue to add on... HOHOHO...
Few years back, my room was just a bed and cupboard. I started working after i completed my Polytechnic and BMT. Today whatever in my room, i earned it myself. TV? Computer? Hi-Fi? Furniture? All i bought myself. Well, this is what makes me different. I don't demand for things from my parents. If i would have to demand, i would demand love and care from them. But they had given it. Remembering that there's this specify biscuit that i loves to eat when i was young. It was 1 dollar per pack. I really loved it. My mum was walking back home from market and pass by the shop. Knowing that i love it, she bought it. While she was walking back home, my mum tripped onto a metal object on the kerb in the middle of the road. When my mum fell, she tried to avoid hitting the biscuit on the ground and landed her hand onto the ground as the first impact. It really touched me to the maximum.
My dad told me that parents give birth to you, but that does not mean they owe you a living. This is always true. We have to be independent... HAHA RANDOM POST FOR ME! THANKS MY MUM FOR TALKING TO ME SO RANDOMLY, IF NOT I ALSO NOTHING MUCH TO POST. HOHOHO
Well, i have to thank to my mum!
Thanks for the constant teaching! Although it becomes naggy very often, but i have to admit that i do appreciate it!
